Tatami Studio
offers a range of progressive
classes in Aikido, Yoga
and Meditation
Aikido is a non-violent martial art and an excellent self-defence skill that can be practised by people of all ages and levels of physical wellness, either as a recreational activity or as serious discipline. Tatami Studio teaches Iwama Aikido as passed down from the founder O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba (1883–1969).
Dru comes from the Sanskrit word dhruva which means ‘coming to a still point’ and ‘unchanging’. Dru Yoga has its roots in hatha yoga and includes classical yoga postures (asanas), breath work (pranayama), hand gestures (mudras) and empowering visualization through dynamic yoga sequences.
Dru Meditation classes delve deeply into the science of meditation to find inner peace amidst life's challenges. Dru Meditation focuses on the five layers (koshas) of the body. The techniques taught at Tatami Studio will give the student skills to increase daily mindfulness, energy and peace.
